| California Veterinary Medical Board to
fund
spaying and neutering
with new vehicle license plate

Sacramento, Calif. -- The California Veterinary Medical Board is
sponsoring a new vehicle license plate to help fund no-cost and low-cost
spaying and neutering at clinics and animal shelters, as well as
redeemable coupons for the procedures at local veterinarians.
Money from the custom license plates will be administered by the
California Veterinary Medical Board through the California Spay &
Neuter License Plate Fund, which is seeking nonprofit status from the
state.
The plate features an illustration by actor Pierce Brosnan of his two
adopted pets: Shilo the dog and Coco the cat.
The license plate is available for preorder, and plates will be produced
if 7,500 or more plates are requested. The cost is $50, with $40 going
directly to the fund.
